Control of cholera

 Boil water before drinking it.

 Kill houseflies e.g. by spraying, use of insecticides, etc.

 Wash hands before eating, serving or handling food.

 Wash hands after visiting the toilet or latrine

 Cover cooked food to keep away houseflies.

 Properly dispose human faeces

Typhoid

This is an infection by bacteria causing fever and severe intes-

tinal irritation.

 It is caused by bacteria

 It can be spread by house flies

 Typhoid can be spread by drinking contaminated wa-

ter and eating dirty food.

Signs of typhoid

 Diarrhea

 Vomiting

Symptoms of typhoid

 Headache

 Fever

 Loss of appetite

 Body weakness

Prevention of typhoid

 Boiling water for drinking

 Spraying insecticides to kill houseflies

 Washing hands before eating food
