Honey bees undergo a complete metamorphosis
Swarming
A Swarm is a group of bees moving together.
Swarming is the massive movement of bees from one place to
another.
Reasons for Swarming in bees
When bees are over crowdedness of bees in the hive.
When another queen bee is produced.
Shortage of food and water within the area
Problems with the hive itself such as; overheating through
direct sunlight and lack of adequate ventilation
Dampness and bad smell around the hive.
Presence of threats in the environment.
Disturbance from the environment e.g. noise, bad smell, etc.
Something wrong with hive e.g. damage, etc.
