Setting up an apiary or Sitting a Hive

NB: An apiary is a group of beehives

This refers to the process of selecting a suitable place in which

to put the hive.

Factors to Consider

 A Place sheltered from strong sunlight and wind

 Presence of pollen (flowering plants) around the apiary

 A Place free from bee enemies.

 A Place free from noise and other disturbances

 There should be a water source not more than 500 metres

away.

 A place away from bad smell.
