The Kuroiler dual purpose Hybrid chicken for Ugandan
farmers
In 2010, this breed was introduced to Uganda.
The breed originated from India carefully bred by scientists.
Government prefers the kuroiler to local chicken for farmers
because of the following reasons;
It grows faster than local chicken.
Unlike other exotic breeds, it is fairly resistant to diseases
and harsh climate
It can be kept as a free range bird and still grows well
It is easy and cheap to feed. It can feed on agricultural
waste or kitchen leftovers.
It’s therefore affordable and gives a more profitable option
to a rural farmer.
