Matter

Matter is anything that has occupies space (volume) and has

        weight or mass.

Volume is the amount of space occupied by an object.

Mass is the amount of matter containing in an object.

Weight is how heavy an object is

        States of Matter

Matter exists in three states namely

        Solids

Solids are simply hard substances, and they are hard because of

how their molecules are packed together. Examples include

rock, chalk, wood, copper, iron, bricks, etc.

        Liquids

It’s a substance that flows freely but with constant volume. E.g.

        water, oil, juice, etc.

        Gases

Gases are substances that move around freely and take on any

shape. E.g. air, steam, smoke, oxygen, carbon dioxide, etc

        Properties of matter

        1. Matter occupies space

        2. Matter exert pressure

        3. Matter has weight

        4. Matter has density
