Resources to consider when setting a nursery bed

         1. Shelter against run off water

         2. Shelter against direct sunlight, storm and harsh weather

         Caring of seedlings or plants

                            Transplanting

This is the transfer of seedlings from a nursery

bed to a well prepared garden

                          Pruning:

This is the cutting off of excess branches on a

plant. E.g oranges, lemons, coffee, cocoa, tea,

         bananas, guava, etc.

         Advantages

 Reduces competition for sunlight and air

 Pruning reduces the rate of transpiration

 Reduces overweight and over crowdedness of the plant

 Proper trimming can improve the health of your trees by

eliminating branches that are dead or dying.

         Thinning

It’s the removal of some plants, or parts of plants, to make
room for the growth of others.

         Advantages

 Reduces hiding places for pests

 Reduced competition for nutrients from the soil

 It allows easy pest control
