2. Docking



         Docking is the shortening a lamb’s tail. Dock-

         ing improves the health and welfare of

         sheep and lambs. It prevents fecal mat-

         ter from accumulating on the tail and

         the behind of the animal


         Importance of docking

          To make intercourse between ewe and

            ram easy.

          To prevent tails from becoming covered by dungs and attract

            flies and diseases



         3. Shearing



         This is the cutting of wool from a

         sheep using a shearing machine. A

         shearing machine is used to cut wool

         from a sheep. Wool is sold for industrial

         purposes


         4. Dehorning


         This is the removal of horns from animals

         Dehorning prevents

         animals from hurting

         each other.

         It creates space in ani-

         mal houses.
