Primary Health Care







        Primary Health Care is the essential health care which involves

        individuals, families and communities coming together to

        solve their common health problems.
        .
        Primary health care became a core policy for World Health Or-

        ganisation in 1978.

        Health is a state of complete well being physically, mentally

        and spiritually.


        Elements of P.H.C




              Control of communicable disease

              Education on health problems and how to prevent and

                control them.

              Development of effective food supply and proper nutri-

                tion.

              Maternal and child healthcare, including family planning.

              Adequate and safe water supply and basic sanitation.

              Immunization against major infectious diseases.

              Appropriate treatment of common diseases and injuries.

              Provision of essential basic medication.
