These are horizontal underground stems.

Examples of rhizomes; Ginger, Cana lily, Turmeric, Zoysia grass

A corm is a short vertical underground stem swollen with

stored food.

It has scaly leaves, buds and adventitious roots.

Examples of corms; Coco yams, Gladiolus, Crocus .
