         It is an infectious disease caused by bacteria.

         It affects the mammary glands of mammals like cattle buffa-

         loes, sheep, goats bitch woman etc.



         Signs and symptoms


          Swollen udder and teats


          Milk contains pus, blood and turns watery or clots


          Death may result if not treated


          The affected udder quarter dies and gives no milk Note:

            mastitis can be detected by the use of a strip cup
