Friction
Frictional force refers to the force generated by two surfaces
that contacts and slide against each other.
A friction is a force that tends to oppose motion between ob-
jects. Friction is what happens when any two things rub
against each other. Friction holds back the movement of a slid-
ing object and acts in the opposite direction.

Friction resists sliding
Examples of friction
You will find friction everywhere that objects come into con-
tact with each other. Some examples are:
When a car needs to stop, it slows because of the friction be-
tween the brakes and the wheels.
If you run and stop quickly, you can stop because of the fric-
tion between your shoes and the ground.
