2. Artificial Incubation


            This is a method where an incubator machine is used to hatch

              the eggs.


            Some incubators use a lamp to supply heat while others use

              electricity


            After incubation, chicks


              are separated according



              to their sexes (chick sex-

          Advantages of artificial in-

          cubation


            Very many eggs are

              hatched at the same time


            Because of effective control, a big percentage of fertilized eggs

              hatch successfully.


            Because of the above reasons it is ideal for commercial use.


          Disadvantages of natural incubation


            It is an expensive method to setup and manage

            It needs special attention and care

            There must be someone to always supervise it.

            In case of mistakes in management, the losses can be very se-

              vere.

            It requires constant power or a heat supply.
