Characteristics of monocotyledonous plant
Produce seeds with one cotyledon
They undergo hypogeal germination.
Have fibrous roots.
Have leaves with parallel leaf venation.
Dicotyledonous plants
These are plants which bar seeds with the cotyledons.
Examples:
Legumes (e.g. beans, peas, groundnuts), bananas, mangoes,
etc.
