2. Insect eaters

         They have short narrow beaks for picking up the insect from

         the back of trees.



         Examples include; robins, swallows, Sparrows, and swift, bee

         eaters etc.

         Swallows and swifts have short and wide open beaks which


         help them to catch insects even when flying.

         3. Scratching Birds

         These birds feed on seeds and insects which they find by

         scratching the earth.

         They have short, strong, firm pointed beaks for picking up

         things from the ground.
         They have strong feet with thick toes and blunt nails.


         They can walk easily
         Their body is heavy and wings are weak.

         Examples include; domestic fowls i.e. chicken, turkey, guinea

         fowl.
