Signs and symptoms of HIV/AIDS

Signs

The major signs of AIDS are:

 Herpes zoster locally called “Kisipi” which inflames the skin

making it appear as sealed.

 Persistent diarrhoea

 Rapid weight loss.

 Skin cancer which is also called Kaposi’s sarcoma. This caus-

es itching and leads to scratching that leaves black spots.

 Swollen lymph glands especially those of the neck and arm-

pits

 Rashes, sores, or lesions in the mouth or nose, on the

genitals, or under the skin.

 Chronic cough which lasts long.

 Chronic fatigue
