Signs and symptoms of HIV/AIDS
Signs
The major signs of AIDS are:
Herpes zoster locally called “Kisipi” which inflames the skin
making it appear as sealed.
Persistent diarrhoea
Rapid weight loss.
Skin cancer which is also called Kaposi’s sarcoma. This caus-
es itching and leads to scratching that leaves black spots.
Swollen lymph glands especially those of the neck and arm-
pits
Rashes, sores, or lesions in the mouth or nose, on the
genitals, or under the skin.
Chronic cough which lasts long.
Chronic fatigue
