2. Artificial Incubation
This is a method where an incubator machine is used to hatch
the eggs.
Some incubators use a lamp to supply heat while others use
electricity
After incubation, chicks
are separated according
to their sexes (chick sex-
ing)
Advantages of artificial in-
cubation
Very many eggs are
hatched at the same time
Because of effective control, a big percentage of fertilized eggs
hatch successfully.
Because of the above reasons it is ideal for commercial use.
Disadvantages of natural incubation
It is an expensive method to setup and manage
It needs special attention and care
There must be someone to always supervise it.
In case of mistakes in management, the losses can be very se-
vere.
It requires constant power or a heat supply.
