Meningitis



          A serious disease in which there is damage in the brain

            marked by intense headache and fever, sensitivity to light,

            and muscular rigidity

          Edward Jenner, an English

            doctor was the first to dis-

            cover the vaccine and vaccination of small pox in 1700.

          This disease was effectively eradicated through vaccination

            by 1979.
