Disadvantages

         They smell badly

 They are tiresome to make

 Large quantities are required which makes it difficult to col-

            lect

 They can cause sanitation problems if not handled well.

 Organic manure require micro-organisms to break them

down. Certain climate conditions may not favour these or-

            ganisms to work well

 They are slow to release nutrients. They may not release nu-

trients as soon as the farmer wants them. You have to be pa-

            tient

 Nutrient compositions are unknown. The farmer will have to

gamble with quantity to be applied or rely on experience.

 They have lower nutrient concentration than chemical ferti-

            lizers
