Energy inter-conversion

Using a stone or a pendulum swinging in the air.

         1. At A, stone possesses P.E

         2. At B, possesses K.E

         3. At C, stone is slowing

         4. At D it possesses P.E

         Heat energy

         .

Heat is a form of energy that causes matter to

become hot or warm OR Heat is a form

of energy that increases the tempera-

ture of matter making it hot or warm.

Heat energy can be transferred from one

object to another or even created at the expense of

the loss of other forms of energy.

Temperature is a measure of how hot or cold of something. It’s

the measure of the amount of heat something has.

         Sources of heat

A Source of heat is anything that provides heat

         Examples:

 Sun – this is the main natural source of heat in the environ-

            ment

          Fire

          Electricity

          Decaying matter

          Friction between objects

          Food
