Ungulate s











                            Ungulates are hoofed herbivorous (mainly feed on

                          plants) animals. They are divided according to their

         number of toes.



         1. Even toed Ungulates


         Even toed ungulates are subdivided into ruminants and Non-

         ruminants



         a) Ruminants


         These are even toed ungulates with four stomachs and chew

         cud. Most of them have horns used for protection.
