A bony fish (Osteichthyes) is one whose skeleton is made

of bones.

Examples of bonny fish are; Nile perch, Tilapia, her-

rings, trout, salmons.

Characteristics

1. They have no eyelids.

2. Their bodies are covered by overlapping scales.

3. They have swim bladder which helps to keep them float or

to sink.

4. Their gills are protected by gill cover or operculum
