3. The Queen bee

           She is usually the mother of most, if not all, of the bees in the

            beehive.

           The queens are developed from larvae selected by worker

            bees and specially fed in order to become sexually mature.

           It is fed on special food called Royal Jelly by the Nurse bees.
            This royal jelly con-

            sists of pollen, sugar,

            water and nectar

           Its main function is to

            lay eggs in the hive

           It uses the ovipositor

            to lay eggs

           It is much larger than

            the others with a large

            abdomen and longer legs.
