Different living things produce sound in different ways:

 Mammals produce sound by the vibration of their vocal

cords in the larynx. In addition to this, humans change the

tongue and the lips to modify the sound.

 Birds sing by the help of their rings of cartilage.

 Bees and mosquitoes produce sound by flapping their wings

            rapidly.

 Crickets produce sound by rubbing their wings against the

            hind legs.

                          MUSICAL TOOLS

All musical instruments are materials used to produce

         sound.

They are used to accompany or 1 give a beat to the flow

         Groups of musical instruments.

There are basically three categories of musical

instruments basing on how they produce

sound, how they are played and their fea- A

         tures.

They are classified into three: String instru-

         ments, Wind instruments, Percussion instru-
