2. Photosynthesis
This is the process by which plants make their own food/
starch.
Photo- means light and Synthesis means building up
Conditions for photosynthesis
1. Chlorophyll
2. Water
3. Carbon dioxide
4. Sunlight energy
The products of this process is food (carbohydrates, starch or
glucose) and oxygen. Oxygen in this case is a bi-product
(waste) and release to the atmosphere.
Chlorophyll
This the green pigment (coloured matter) in plants.
Chlorophyll is used for;
It traps light energy from the sun
Light energy is used during photosynthesis by leaves to
make starch and store it as chemical energy
