Bottle feeding
The practice of feeding an infant with a substitute for breast
milk. E.g. cow’s milk or powdered milk.
Disadvantages of bottle feeding
Bottles can easily be contaminated the milk
Bottles are difficult to clean
Powdered milk is time consuming and difficult to pre-
pare
Cow’s or tinned powdered milk is expensive to
buy
Some cow’s milk or powdered milk may be dilut-
ed so much causing milk lack complete diet.
Powdered milk is preserved with chemicals that
may have health consequences later in life
Baby may get digestion problems.
Bottle-fed babies tend to have more health prob-
lems than breastfed ones
