Gestation period in goats

         Gestation period is the time from fertilization to birth in ani-

         mals.

         The gestation period for goats is generally from 148 to 152

         days with an average of 150 days.

         Shelter

         A goat’s household should;

         1. Protect animals from rain, drought and heat.

         2. Build the house away from goat predators. Productivity will

            be low if goats are constantly scared.

         3. Construct a house easy to clean to avoid diseases

         4. Be well ventilated (to allow circulation of air)

         5. Have a slanting floor and made of concrete (for easy clean-

            ing) or the flour can be porous to let goat urine leak out

         6. Divide sections of the house to separate goats basing on

            their age, breed or other conditions such as health
