5. Swine Dysentery
It’s caused by a bacterium called Brachyspira hyodysenteriae.
This organism causes a severe inflammation of the large intes-
tine with a bloody mucous diarrhea.
Symptoms
Dark watery blood flowing from anus vulva, mouse and nose
Prevention Control and Treatment
Treat early cases with antibiotics
Vaccinate yearly
If dead, dispose off carcass by burying or burning
Isolate sick animals
6. Foot rot
This is caused by bacteria
Signs and Symptoms
Swollen painful hooves making animal become lame
Parts of the hoof contain pus and smell rotten
Painful swollen claw.
Cracks at the sole-hoof junction, or splitting of the hoof it-
self.
